KESC Academic Enrichment Acceleration Science program..

Academic Enrichment Acceleration activities for the sciences are designed and aligned with PA Science and Technology standards for the purpose of advancing students knowledge and helping them learn independently.
The Physics concepts of motion and forces, energy, structure of matter, change over time and machines are organized and learned by the use of a learning-by-inquiry and design approach.
Process knowledge skills such as observing, classifying, predicting, measuring, computing, estimating, communicating, raising questions, formulating hypotheses, testing and experimenting and others are used as unifying theme and applied to real-life physics and chemistry problems.
Physics deepens the understanding of the structure and properties of materials and includes atoms, waves, light, electricity, magnetism and the role of energy, forces and motion. Students are expected to achieve as they progress through school from elementary, middle to high school in achieving the following learning outcomes;
  • Know and identify the parts that make up a system and explain and describe their relationship to each other to achieve a desired result.
  • Describe, distinguish and discriminate between system inputs and subsystems, and the interrelationships among them,
  • Apply the concepts of systems, subsystems, feedback and control to solve complex technological problems,
  • Apply the knowledge of control, and apply knowledge of complex physical models to interpret data.
  • Identify and use the nature of scientific and technological knowledge.
  • Apply process knowledge to make and interpret observations and organize scientific and technological phenomena in varied ways
  • Evaluate the nature of scientific and technological knowledge.
  • Recognize and apply basic concepts about the structure and properties of matter.
  • Know basic energy types, sources and Conversions
  • Observe and describe different types of force and motion and Relate energy sources and transfers to heat and temperature.
  • Identify, explain and distinguish among the principles of force and motion.

KESC Science Program is designed to meet the science and technology information literacy skills of every student from pre-K to high school grade level.

KESC 45 hours of academic enrichment suport is guaranteed to give your child a life-long learning tool. CALL 412 894-8595 for details or kescinfo@kanmas.com.
